Major League Baseballer Brad Thomas

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with one of Australia's greatest baseballers.

Thomas was signed as an undrafted free agent in 1995 by the Los Angeles Dodgers and then days later would sign with the Minnesota Twins. Thomas would become the number one pitching prospect with the Twins from 1998 - 2004. Thomas was a 4-time All-Star in the minor leagues and a World All-Star (2001 Futures Game). Thomas pitched in the majors for the Twins between 2001 - 2004 appearing in 101 games. Thomas would then move to the World Champion Boston Red Sox in 2004. From the USA, Thomas would then sign in 2005 with the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters of Japan and would appear in 119 games compiling a 2.9 ERA over 2 seasons. In 2009, Thomas would return to the United States and join the Detroit Tigers where he would finish the entire season with a 6-2 record and a 3.89 ERA.

The session with Brad was an eye opener for our coaches. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Brad and his methods made us realise how cricket needs to invest more into specialist fielding coaches like Brad. After all, Baseballers are the best in the world at throwing a ball.
